About the Release:
Network Archives 001: A Directory of Inspiration is designed to serve as a resource for creators, educators, and thinkers actively exploring new models for creativity in and around music. The collection connects individuals with shared values, such as collaboration, creative exploration, autonomy, and the importance of context. Spanning 190 pages, it features 29 in-depth project breakdowns from musicians and creators who are world-building around their creative identities. These include essays, blog posts, and reflections that dive into the conception, coordination, rollout, design, and formation of boundary-pushing projects. Together, they reveal the processes, experiments, and inspirations behind innovative work, offering a cohesive narrative about what it means to build, create, and distribute in today’s world.
Rooted in the belief that creativity thrives when shared, this zine serves as a wellspring of ideas and an invitation to engage with the content, build upon it, and ultimately shape the future. It’s a time capsule and a resource for creators seeking fresh perspectives and connections.

Who Is This For?
This release is for creators, students, educators, and curious minds who seek inspiration and insight from a global community of makers. Whether you are an artist connecting with others pushing the boundaries of their craft, an educator looking for fresh material for the classroom, or simply someone curious about how creative people work and think, Network Archives 001 offers a curated space to explore and learn.
This is not about templates for success but rather a collection of ideas to spark unique experiments. It’s for those who value stories of process and connection over isolated achievements, helping to foster new approaches to creativity in a rapidly changing world.
Quote from me:
“The idea for Network Archives 001 started as a small conversation and quickly grew into something much larger. We creators are experimenting with new ways to distribute our work, build worlds around our art, and redefine what it means to be independent artists. I set out to curate something that captured what’s happening at the ground level—where creators are not only documenting their work but also sharing the processes and challenges that shape it. This is more than a collection of creative work; it’s a record of a moment in time when creators are connecting through shared experiences, experimentation, and a desire to push boundaries in search of answers, even when the questions themselves remain unknown”
The Label is funded by C.Y lee a technologist and music technologist based in Seattle, WA with a 30 year career in product design, software, startups, and angel investing. His role has been pivotal for both the label and some of the projects contained, providing funding for work that doesn’t fit common music funding models, and developing a patronage model to fund music projects that seek to build a new future for the independent music economy. His own submission “Patronage is a Luxury” is included in the zine.
Quote from C.Y. Lee:
“This is important because it serves as a real-time record of the formation of new culture on new mediums, created by those defining it on their own terms.
Often a movement is recognized and documented in hindsight. Bringing these voices together in the midst of the Zeitgeist generates inspirational force to push culture forward.”
“I’m proud to be the Executive Producer on this; I’m funding it because I believe it needs to exist, not because I expect a financial back end.”
